Global Leaders Strengthen Communication Skills Through Business Storytelling Programme
Over the last few weeks, leaders from across Global participated in a Business Storytelling course, a programme designed to support them in communicating with greater clarity, authenticity and impact, using their own experiences to bring the Global story to life.
Organised by our Chief Relations Officer, Christine Cochrane, and led by Bob Keiller and Derrick Thomson of AB15, the sessions centred on real, lived examples from across the business, helping participants to turn complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives; deliver presentations that are engaging, confident and purposeful; adapt their style to different audiences; and show up as authentic leaders using their own voice and experiences.
The session was attended by Michael Howie, Head of Corporate Development and Market Intelligence at Global; Iona Currie, Group Recruitment Director at Global; Mike Bathurst, Chief Technology Officer at Global; Derek J McNab, Cheif Executive Officer at Arthian Ltd; Daniel Cormack, Managing Director of Scotbuild; Lyndsey Wilkinson Assoc. CIPD, Business Director at Global Highland; and Dylan Spink and Jack Howell, Directors at CHANCE Recruitment.
Christine commented: “This is a great example of how we continue to invest in developing our leaders - not just in what they do, but how they communicate, influence and lead. Translating complex thinking into clear, authentic storytelling is a critical capability, and it was great to see leaders step into their own voice, using real experiences to connect and bring the Global story to life"
Dylan of CHANCE Recruitment commented: "Thank you for arranging this course and getting myself and Jack to attend. It was excellent and I was very impressed at how Bob and Derrick do their work."
Derek of Arthian commented: “I will be using the lessons taught in this course in my presentations and client meetings going forward. I would recommend anyone to attend if they get a chance, it turns the general presentation guidance on it’s head and really changes the way we should be thinking when preparing and presenting in the future.”
