Global Brings Site Supervisors Together to Strengthen On-Site Leadership and Communication

Earlier this week, site supervisors from Global Infrastructure – part of Global – and BAM Nuttall came together for a two-day ‘Delivering the Message’ development session designed to strengthen how they communicate on site and lead with confidence and credibility.

Organised by our Chief Relations Officer, Christine Cochrane, and led by an external facilitator, Integrity HSE’s Rob Diver and Stephen Cargin, the practical and interactive course focused on real-world scenarios supervisors face every day. Participants explored how to communicate clearly, manage challenge effectively and deliver messages that resonate.

Across the two days, the programme covered real-life scenario practice using toolbox talks, shift briefings, safety updates and change messages; live delivery practice with facilitator and peer feedback; coaching and re-delivery to demonstrate visible improvement; role-play centred on difficult conversations, pushback and challenging behaviours; and practical tools that can be applied immediately within teams.

Christine Cochrane, commented: “As Chief Relations Officer, leading our Group People and Development strategy, strengthening leadership capability is a key priority. I’ve worked with Integrity HSE previously and know they deliver practical, engaging programmes that translate into real behaviours on site. This session focused on developing supervisors who can communicate clearly and lead confidently in the moments that matter, supporting both safe, effective delivery today and the leadership capability we need for the future across our projects. We look forward to building on this and creating further development opportunities across the wider Group.”

Kevin Williamson, Global Infrastructure’s Managing Director, added: “I’d like to thank Global for organising and supporting this team development session, which provided a valuable opportunity for our teams to learn and develop alongside our partners. Our relationship with BAM Nuttall has been built over many years, delivering major energy infrastructure projects together across Scotland. Bringing our site supervisors together for this session reflects the strength of that partnership and our shared commitment to developing confident, capable leaders on site.”
